At the Tuesday, January third meeting of the Monroe Arts Council, the group elected officers for 2017. Elected president was former vice president Mick Schumacher; vice president, Kim Schaber, tourism director; and Carole Helbling, recording secretary. Sam Miller will continue as treasurer for the organization.

Area elementary students had the opportunity to spend a morning touring the Milky Way last week as COSI on Wheels visited each of Switzerland of Ohio’s five elementary schools.

The Ohio Valley River Museum has only existed for about seven years, but its stockpile of treasures stretches the gamut of Ohio Valley history.

She was currently serving as the village clerk for the Village of Woodsfield, Ohio; a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, Ohio; and was a 1975 graduate of Woodsfield High School, Woodsfield, Ohio.  She enjoyed going to ball games, traveling, and most especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Michael Bernard Miller, 70, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 8, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer.  

Registration underway for New Matamoras Library Story Hour program

Registration is now underway at the New Matamoras Library for the winter/spring Story Hour program. Story Hour is an interactive program designed for two through five-year-olds and their parent/caregiver. The program features stories, crafts, creative play and music while encouraging interaction with other children.
