A Monroe County business is closed after two drug-related arrests took place late in the day on Tues., April 16. Arrested were Sam and Shannon Hannahs, owners of The Center, a 24 hour gym in Woodsfield.
The investigation and arrests were executed by the Woodsfield Police Department. Police Chief Chuck Hamilton said of the events, “After an ongoing investigation, Sam and Shannon Hannahs were arrested, and a search warrant was served at The Center gym.”
Chief Hamilton would not go into specifics about how long the husband and wife duo had been investigated or what had led to the issuance of the search warrant. However, he did say that cash and prescription drugs were seized upon searching the property.
The drug allegedly being illegally handled by the couple were Oxycodone pills, which are a prescription medication. According to the U.S. Department of Justice website, Oxycodone is frequently abused. In illegal use, Oxycodone is known by street names such as “hillbilly heroin”, “kicker”, “oc”, and “oxy.”
