I just can’t believe how fast a month flies by especially when you’re having fun and fun we have been having. On Sept. 11 my sister Susie, her husband Tony, Fred and I were off on a 13-day trip west which encompassed 11 states and over 4,600 miles. What a trip! I certainly love retirement.
Our main destination was Sedona, Arizona where we spent six days sightseeing. Sedona is so beautiful with its red rock formations that were just amazing. If you ever visit that area, don’t miss Slide Rock State Park. Wow! We took a train ride, then a bus tour of the Grand Canyon and you definitely see why it is one of the wonders of the world. God outdid Himself with that area of the country. Although I still think Monroe County is very beautiful but Sedona and the Grand Canyon are a very different kind of beauty.
While we were in Arizona, we had a chance to catch up with Sue (Young) and Mark Martinka. They live in Phoenix and met us in Jerome where we lunched at the Haunted Hamburger Restaurant (Sound interesting. The food was good). From there we toured Montezuma’s Castle, which is Indian ruins dated back to 1100-1300 A.D. We had a wonderful day visiting and sightseeing.
