It is better to forget and smile than to remember and be upset.
A good parent remembers what it was to be a child.
Well, October is moving fast and nearly half over. I ca hardly wait until “corn night”. Do any of you remember corn night? We went out to the corn crib, picked out several ears of corn, shelled them and we were ready to throw corn at folks’ windows the night before halloween. OK there were a few who liked to soap windows as well as throw corn. I guess it’s changed to trick or treat nowadays.
I’ve been tempted to go around here in Lewisville and throw corn at windows. A couple of things stops me. First of all, I don’t have a corn crib to get corn; secondly, I cannot run as fast to get away, when needed, as I used to. So I guess we’ll just let corn night stay dead. We did have fun though.
This cooler weather we have been having the last few days is just a hint of what we are to expect later on this year. The old Farmers Almanac tells us we are in for a rough and cold winter this year. It said the same thing last year. It’s bound to be right sometime. The sun is shining bright this morning. A nice change.
