Good morning,

It is a very cool, crisp morning but, the sun is doing its best to warm things up.

Instead of sitting here waiting on the “Robert E. Lee”, I’m waiting on the “Nina and the Pinta” replica ships to come by. They will be docked in Marietta from Fri., Oct. 12-21. Tours will be available from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Oct. 12-21. There is an admission. The ships will be docked at Marietta Harbor.

The saying is, if you wait long enough your ship will come in, but in my case they sailed right on by.

Get well wishes to my friend Martha Linsley and a cheery hello to my friend Diana Evans who enjoys reading the Beacon and always has a kind and cheerful word for others.

Ralph and Geraldine Petersen of Sardis, Jim and Patti Cunningham, Marcy Coppernoll and sons, Cameron and Caleb, of Marietta and Michelle Brown of Boaz, W.Va., attended the annual “pig roast” hosted by Dean and Jenny Petersen and daughters, Hannah and Deana of their farm in Canton. The Petersens introduced their latest  addition to the farm, a riding horse for the girls.
