After beginning the season with four straight losses, the Beallsville Blue Devils football team looked poised to have a disastrous season. Flash forward six weeks, and the Blue Devils fought past their early struggles to end the year with a respectable 5-5 record. Only the stalwart Shadyside Tigers were able to defeat the Blue Devils during the second-half of head coach Paul Kanzigg's first year,
The season was capped off on Saturday, Oct. 27 with a resounding 35-14 victory over St. John Central. Beallsville fell behind early during the game with the first quarter ending with St. John leading 7-0. Beallsville reeled off two quick touchdowns to begin the second quarter. After St. John tied the game at 14-14, the flood gates broke loose, and the Blue Devils rattled off three touchdowns before the half. All Beallsville's points came in the second quarter, and neither team scored in the second half.
