The Monroe Central Seminoles football season came to an end on Friday, Oct. 26 with a blowout 48-13 victory over PVC foe Buckeye Trail. The Seminoles had a good 2012 campaign, finishing the season at 7-3. However, the Seminoles fell short of the playoffs finishing 11th  out of 29 teams in their region. Only the top eight teams in each region advance to the playoffs.

Monroe Central jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. Buckeye Trail struck back with a rushing touchdown in the second quarter but faced another 21-0 run from Monroe Central to make the score 42-7 entering the fourth quarter. By that point, the game was well out of hand, and the Seminoles cruised to a 48-13 win.

Leading the Seminoles on offense was senior quarterback Korey Lafferre. In his last game as a Seminole signal caller, Lafferre rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 80 yards and two touchdowns.
