Gary and Marjorie Baumberger were at Roscoe Village’s “Apple Butter Stirin” on Oct. 20. They especially enjoyed the entertainment by the “Wayfars” String Band playing old time music. They were elated to find June Hyre and Hazel Freeman there representing Misty Mountain Estate products among the many, many vending booths. A large variety of vendors were set up in the street, probably numbering 100 to 200; what a festival!

I received a surprise phone call. I had a message on my answering machine a couple of times. But hadn’t had a chance to return the call; then the caller finally called when I was at home. And was I surprised when the caller, Jim from D & J Wood Products Firewood Sales said that I had won the firewood that I had signed up for at the Black Walnut Festival. I want to thank Bill and Dan for delivering a pile of firewood. Need some firewood? Get in touch with D & J Wood Products. (It sure came in handy this week with the cold weather.)

A Halloween party, fall fest and games party was held at St. John’s Fellowship center with 30 attending. The ghosts and goblins played games, had a parade and got treats. A lunch was served by the Spiritual Life Committee and games were played.
