Well, the election is finally over. Maybe the TV can come back to normal again. I don't remember getting as tired of seeing political ads as I did this year. At times I almost felt like throwing something at the TV.
Actually, for me there were very few surprises when all the votes or most of the votes had been counted. I enjoyed it more when we had to stay up till the wee hours to find out who won.
If you believe what you hear or see probably more than two billion dollars was spent on this election. What did all of this money accomplish? Actually, not much except for a few changes nationwide. If you are interested in math, figure how long you would need to live to spend a billion dollars at the rate of a thousand dollars a day.
Enough about election except for one thought I had. I was very disappointed our school levy failed. I guess you might say having been a retired teacher I would maybe have a different thinking abut our schools. It was for our kids and a majority voted against, which is everyone’s privilege to vote what they think. My opinion is if you have a complaint about our schools stop and ask, “Did I vote for or against the levy?” On the other hand our school levy defeat was not the only one around here. Enough said.
