The Monroe Central Seminoles’ boys basketball team opened up a new year with a new coach with a stellar victory over the PVC foe Caldwell Redskins at their new home gym in Woodsfield on Nov. 30. The team was able to give head coach Lou Tolzda his first win as a Seminole with a 64-59 victory.
The game was close throughout with Monroe Central leading by only one at the end of the first quarter and three at half-time. In the end, the Seminoles were too much for the Redskins. Leading the balanced effort by the Noles were Korey Lafferre (16 points), Bryan Duffy (14 points), Cameron Jorris (seven points), Levi Brown (seven points) and Kordell Antill (six points). The Seminoles will next face River at home on Dec. 7.
