On Wednesday, Dec. 5th, the River Pilot wrestling team began their home mat in impressive fashion. They defeated Tyler Consolidated by a 60-15 point total.

In the 106-weight class, Zachary Bonner of Tyler won by forfeit. There was a double forfeit in the 113-weight class. River’s Chase Schultheis (120) pinned Bobby Dennis in 1:03. River’s Josh Stewart (126) and Luke Gillies (132) won by forfeit. In the 138-weight class, Loren Thomas of River pinned William Chapman in 0:25. At 145, Bailey Reusser won by forfeit. River’s Devin Talbott (152) pinned Raphie Bailes n 1:20. Jordan Sapp(160) f River pinned Josh Ruble in0:59. Kole Smith (170) and Brandon Reusser (182) won by forfeit. River lost the 195-weight class, as Dustin Tawney defeated Dakota Dunn in a 3-2 decision. At 220, Joseph Dotson of River pinned Nathan Eddy in 0:28. Tyler’s Austin Spencer pinned River’s Hank Goble (285) in 5:06.

On Thursday, Dec. 6th, the Lady Pilots traveled to the Cadets of Fort Frye. They lost by the score of 63-36.

Cassidy McCullough led the team in scoring with 10 points. Laken Ramsay and Jenson Caretti each added 8 points.

River’s wrestling team traveled to Monroe Central for a meet on Friday, Dec. 7th, during school. They won by the score of 51-14.
