The Beallsville Blue Devils boys varsity basketball team had a mixed week, losing to Bishop Donahue on Dec. 4, but coming out victorious on Dec. 7 against Caldwell. The boys fell to Bishop Donahue 68-56. Teryn Jarrett had a spectacular effort in the loss, scoring 28 points. Also scoring in double-digits was Dalton Secrest (12) while Logan Nippert scored seven and Kage Rush scored five.
The team pulled out a tough one over the Caldwell Redskins in a 65-62 home victory that gave new head coach Casey Tolzda his first career win. The game seemed all but over after three quarters with BHS leading comfortably 43-22. However, Caldwell exploded for 40 fourth-quarter points and nearly won before Beallsville was able to hold them off. Scoring in double figures for the Blue Devils were Teryn Jarrett (21), Tristan Palmer (14), Logan Nippert (11) and Dalton Secrest (10).
The Beallsville Lady Blue Devils varsity basketball team had a successful week going 3-1. The team won its first game of the season with a victory over Cameron by a score of 59-32 on Dec. 4. Leading the team in victory was Madde Stephen (20), Katey Kinney (17), Mikaela Headley (11) and Lane Bedford (nine).
