Despite several negotiation sessions in recent months and the help of a federal mediator, the Switzerland of Ohio Local School District (SOLSD) and the Switzerland of Ohio Education Association (SOEA) have yet to reach an agreement on teacher contracts. An announcement by SOEA late on Feb.

Correction from Feb 4, 2016 edition

It was incorrectly stated in the Feb. 4, 2016 article entitled “Primary Election absentee voting to begin soon” that the incumbent Democratic Central Committee Member in Sunsbury Township is Clay Dean Gramlich and that the challenger  is George R. Hoover, Sr. In reality, it is the opposite. Hoover is the incumbent, while Gramlich is the challenger. 

Obituary Freda Bewley

Freda Jackson Bewley, 90, formerly of Stafford, passed away February 2, 2016 at the Marietta Center, Marietta, Ohio. She was born near Stafford on August 4, 1925, a daughter of the late George and Dora Mallett McConnell.
