The push for a new county jail was renewed during the regular session meeting of the Monroe County Commissioners on Jan. 20. In a meeting held between commissioners, Sheriff Charles Black Jr. and Prosecuting Attorney James Peters, a willingness was shown to pursue the project in earnest. 

According to a release from Monroe County Sheriff Charles Black Jr., a previous drug offender was arrested again on Jan. 20 in Clarington for allegedly selling meth. Taken into custody was James “Bo” Hoskins, 32, of Barberton, OH. 

Bridges to be Replaced on SR 78, Statistics Given for 911

During the January 26th Monroe County Commissioners’ meeting, the Ohio Department of Transportation [ODOT] gave an update on its 2015-2016 projects in Monroe County. Included in these projects is the replacement of four bridges (two in Monroe County and two in Noble) on SR 78 that will be completely paid for by oil and gas companies.
