Nothing is a waste that makes a memory. The one absolutely unselfish friend a person has is a dog.
I think the weather men on WOVK are going to start crying if they don’t give us some snow before long. They’ve been saying snow before Thanksgiving and no luck yet. Now just wait until next week they say now. Let it come. Winter is here.
The high school basketball season is well underway. It kind of looks as though the Monroe Central Noles run, gun and have fun is really working for them so far. Someone said the only bad shot is the one you don’t take. Power to them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t run the table this year. We’ll wait and see.
Before I forget it as my forgetter is now working overtime. I want to wish all of those of you who read “Around the Burnside” a Happy New Year. Unless they have changed it, the basketball is only in play eight minutes per quarter. This figures out to 1,920 seconds a game. The write up about the Monroe Central, Shenandoah game indicated the shots taken by both teams added together was 181. Knock off the zero for ten seconds and I really wasn’t that far off. As the man says, “If you don’t shoot it, it won’t go in.”
