The Monroe Central varsity boys basketball team played against PVC-rival, and basketball powerhouse Fort Frye on the road on Dec. 21. Due to early deadlines, the Beacon will not be able to report on the game until next week.

The Monroe Central varsity girls basketball team bounced back from a couple of rough losses last week with a win in a PVC battle against the Caldwell Redskins. The Lady Seminoles relieved their frustration and crushed Caldwell by a final score of 79-19 after holding the Redskins to single digits in the first half.
