As reported last week, the Beallsville Blue Devils boys basketball team fell to the Frontier Cougars on Dec. 14 by a final score of 55-36. Complete stats for the game were as follows: Teryn Jarrett led the team with 18 points while also pulling down six rebounds and gaining five steals. Also leading team scoring were Tristen Palmer (eight points to go with eight rebounds and four steals) and Kyle Groves (six points to go with a team-leading 11 rebounds. Leading the team in assists was Dalton Secrest with three.
Next on the schedule for the Blue Devils were the Shenandoah Zeps on Dec. 18. The Zeps pulled out a 21 point victory with a 66-45 final tally. Teryn Jarrett had a stellar performance in the loss with 24 points and eight rebounds. The rest of the team had a balanced effort with points being evenly distributed. Also scoring were Logan Nippert (six points), Kyle Groves (five points), Tristen Palmer (four points and five rebounds), Dalton Secrest (four points and four assists) and Chase Mercer (two points).
Due to early deadlines, information for the Dec. 21 boys varsity game against Bishop Donahue was unavailable.
The Beallsville Blue Devils girls varsity basketball team fell to Shenandoah by an identical score as the boys by a final of 66-45 on Dec. 20. The game was with in reach at half-time as the Lady Blue Devils trailed by seven. However, Shenandoah used a strong second half to close the door on Beallsville.
