On Monday, January 14th, the Lady Pilots split the series with Bridgeport. River jumped out to an early lead and held on for a 55-41 final. Jensen Caretti had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Laken Ramsay added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Cassidy McCullough contributed 12 points, while leading the team in steals (5) and assists (4). Haylee Bowers had 3 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Emile Weaver had 2 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals.

River hosted Magnolia on Tuesday, January 15th. Magnolia jumped out to an early lead, but the Pilots claimed their first lead at the 3:50 mark in the first at 8-7. Then the Pilots got the ball back and hit a three to extend their first lead. As time expired in the first, Brett Price nailed a three to give River a 16-11 lead.

The Blue Eagles fought back to bring the halftime tally to 27 all. The second half went back and forth, as the fourth quarter began all square at 41. Late in the game, Matt Marconi hit a three to tie the game at 52.

River recovered the ball with under a minute remaining and ran the clock down to 13.8, before calling a timeout. Price got the ball, drove to the free throw line and put up a fade away jumper. He made the shot for a buzzer beater 54-52 finish.

Price led the team in points with 19. Indermuhle (6 points) led the team in rebounds with 15, and he tied with Price and Marconi to lead the team in steals with 3 each. Caldwell led the team in assists with 4, while scoring 15. Marconi scored 12, and Brown added 2 points.

The Ron Mauck OVAC Wrestling Tournament took place on January 17-19th. The Pilots finished tied 17th with Martins Ferry in the overall standings to take home the triple A crown.

River did not have a wrestler at 106. Chase Schultheis (113) defeated Seth Anderson (Union Local) by fall in 3:24. He lost to Lance Hill (Parkersburg South) by a fall in 3:13. He lost to Michael Max (Brooke) by a 6-1 decision.

Josh Stewart (120) defeated Trevor Neavin (Martins Ferry) in overtime by a fall at the 7:35 point in the match. He lost by a 9-1 major decision to Matthew Beaman (Brooke). He was defeated by Derek Patterson (Cambridge) by a 8-0 decision.

Luke Gillies (126) lost to Hunter Pizzino (Harrison Central) by a fall in 1:30. He lost to Kyle Schlieper (Cameron) by fall in 2:24.
