| A ceremony was held on Jan. 30 to officially open the project on the Omal Railway. Several VIPs were present including John Molinaro, CEO of Jobs Ohio. An overall crowd of over 30 braved the rain for what David Reid, Managing Director of Hannibal Real Estate, called “a milestone event.” Several silver spikes were hammered into the rail to commemorate the occasion. When asked of the importance of what will be the only freight railway in Monroe County, Molinaro said, “This is a very important industrial site for the county. With the renewed interest in river, the availability of both rail and water transportation will make this a great resource.” Those chosen to drive silver spikes were Russell Peterson, CEO of OHIO Terminal Railway; John Pyles, Monroe County Commissioner Chairman; John Molinaro, CEO Jobs Ohio; Mike Tanchuk, CEO Ormet; Jeffrey Himmel, CEO Hannibal Real Estate.
