Stay in touch with one another; absence makes the heart grow yonder. It’s not hard to meet expenses - they’re everywhere.
I wonder and also wonder how many think of what’s happening in our schools and maybe our country. We’ve outlawed prayer, a historic picture of Jesus all to keep a minority happy. What are we replacing them with? GUNS! It seems this is the way things are going and probably the right thing to do. The trouble is this is money that could be used for students’ education.
I’m not a gun control person, although there are a few things that could be done. The recent shooting was a terrible thing. I am, however, a believer if the guns had been properly cared for, this might not have happened. Who knows?
I’m not a regular TV watcher of Dr. Phil. I did watch the other week when his program concerned the rape problem they are having in Steubenville. I think copies of this program should be made and shown to all the top 5 grades of our schools. I think it might be worthwhile.
I taught in this county for 16 years and never gave a thought to anything happening to the students except the normal bumps and bruises. I went to the special meal at Swiss Hills and found the front side door locked. Times change.
I do not know how long Woodsfield and now Monroe Central has had a prayer before the home football game. Along came the word from the state that there will be no prayer before a football game except when two church schools are playing each other. I guess the folks in Woodsfield didn’t get the word and still have a prayer before the game. Of all the years I announced the games, I never had anyone complain or tell me we shouldn’t have a prayer at that time - either team or their fans. So what’s wrong with a prayer before the game?
