Recently announcing his retirement from the Lewisville Post Office after 37 years of service to USPS was Edward J.  “Junior” Ackerman. Ackerman’s last day was Jan. 31.

Junior spent 30 years on the same motor route and began with USPS as a sub for Howard Smith at the Woodsfield Post Office in 1977. Junior then moved to the Lewisville office in 1978 for a permanent position with the post office.

It is not surprising, after Ackerman has spent so long working on one route, that people will miss him. Ackerman has been the recipient of several kind words from people on his route that he has gotten to know over the years.
