This has been a hot soup winter for sure. This evening we had potato soup and believe it or not, I ate two bowls. Yummy!
It’s 80 degrees in the kitchen and I’m sure that the recent windy days and nights had a lot to do with the big cool spots in the area. Here’s hoping for some calm weather for a spell.
I was on the doctor’s list to have my eyes checked on the 8th of February. I called and had them change the date due to unknown weather arriving again. I’m not very brave in the face of drifts and greasy slides. The new appointment will get her soon enough.
A while back Riesbeck’s had some really nice celery at a wonderful savings. I bought several stalks and chopped some up for the freezer. Of course they weren’t crisp enough for celery sticks and peanut butter, but they were decent in this evenings potato soup. Tomorrow I hope I can salvage enough apples from the crisper drawer to brew up a batch of apple sauce or maybe bake a pie. We’ll see.
