On Saturday, February 2nd, the wrestling team participated in the Beallsville Invitational. Seven Pilots placed in their weight divisions. Kole Smith (160), Brandon Reusser (170), Dakota Dunn (182) and JD Dotson (220) each won their weight class. Brett Rosen (195) placed 3rd, while Bailey Reusser (138) and Freddie Mundt (145) placed 4th.

The boys basketball team was scheduled to host Monroe Central on Tuesday, February 5th.  However, the game was cancelled, and it has not been rescheduled at this time.

Monday, February 4th’s OVAC semifinal game was rescheduled for Wednesday, February 6th.  The Lady Pilots, as the number one seed, played host to Shenandoah. The teams split their regular season series, with both teams winning on the road.

The first quarter was tight. River led by one point (12-11) at the conclusion of the first period. The Lady Pilots picked up their pace to increase their lead to 31-23 at the half. The third period was even with each team scoring 12 points. The score was 43-35 going into the fourth quarter. The Lady Zeps made a small run in the middle of the fourth quarter. However, River closed out for a 56-39 win, and advanced to the OVAC AAA championship game.

Landyn Ramsay led the team in scoring with 14 points, while grabbing one rebound and a steal. Cassidy McCullough added 12 points, 3 rebounds and one steal. Laken Ramsay had 9 points, 6 boards, 3 steals and three assists. Jensen Caretti contributed 9 points, a team high 8 rebounds, 4 steals and one assist. Haylee Bowers had 6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists. Emile Weaver contributed 6 points, 4 rebounds, one steal and 5 assists.

The OVAC AAA wrestling duals was held on Wednesday, February 6th. River defeated Tyler Consolidated in the semifinals of the OVAC Wresting Duals competition. They defeated Monroe Central in the finals to claim the OVAC AAA crown.

River forfeited the 106 and 132 weight classes to Tyler. Chase Schultheis (113) was defeated by a 5-3 decision. Josh Stewart (120) won by pin in 1:46. Luke Gillies (126) was pinned in 0:18.  Bailey Reusser (138) won by pin in 2:38. Freddie Mundt (145) won by pin in 1:13. Jordan Sapp (152) won by pin in 2:22.
