The Love of a Family is life’s greatest blessing! Truly the descendants of Peter and David Weber have been blessed and were again on July 19, 2014, at the Lewisville Community Center, when some 50 family members and friends were able to come together for a wonderful day of reunion.

We are blessed because the love and determination of two brothers, Peter and David Weber, who came to America in 1833, fom Schoenan, Germany, on the ship “Freidonia” and landed in New York, N.Y. Traveling through Pennsylvania and making their way south on the Ohio River, they traveled to Monroe County to what is now Clarington. From there they followed a branch of Sunfish Creek called Baker’s Fork in Miltonsburg. The families eventually settled near Lewisville, Ohio in an area called “Sixteen” later known as Weber Ridge (Summit TR 272). We can only imagine the struggles they went through on their journey, yet the love of family kept them going strong. We are here because of their love for family.

The annual reunion of their descendants continues, as it has for many years. Even a little rain could not dampen the sprits of those in attetndance. That is the blessing of getting together with family. Good food always helps! So, everyone enjoyed the covered dish lunch, and it was a joyous day of visiting, sharing, and reflection.
