The Beallsville Lady Blue Devils started their season out with a tri-match against Monroe Central and Shadyside on Aug. 23. The Lady Blue Devils fell in both matches. Against Monroe Central, they 12-25 and 8-25. Dicey Stewart led the effort with two kills and an ace. The Lady Blue Devils were more competitive against Shadyside but ultimately fell by a final of 19-25 and 10-25.

The Beallsville Lady Blue Devils track team competed in the district track meet in Newcomerstown on May 23. Dicey Stewart’s fourth place finish in the shot put allowed her to advance to the next round. Stewart tossed at 30 feet, eight and a half inches.

The Beallsville Blue Devils track teams competed in the Ohio Valley Track League Championship on May 15. The girls finished sixth out of six teams. The boys finished fifth out of six teams as Shayside and Linsly dominated all competitors. Neither team had any winners in individual events.

The Beallsville Blue Devil baseball season ended in sectional play against Steubenville Catholic Central on May 10. The Blue Devils were held to two hits in the 14-0 loss.

In softball action, the Beallsville Lady Blue Devils faced powerhouse in-county rival River on May 5. The only Lady Blue Devils run came in the top of the sixth inning in the 11-1 loss.

The Lady Blue Devils once again faced the 20-plus win River Lady Pilots on May 6. The game ended with Beallsville being held hitless in a 17-0 loss.

The Beallsville Blue Devils baseball team fought hard against league rival Valley on May 2, but they could not wrap up the victory. After falling behind 2-0 in the bottom of the second, the Blue Devils scored five in the top of the third to take a 5-2 lead. After taking a 6-2 lead in the top of the fifth, Beallsville gave up four in the bottom of the fifth for a 6-6 tie. A Valley run in the bottom of the sixth proved to be the winning run as they defeated the Blue Devils by a final of 7-6. Leading the Blue Devils was Garrett Brown who hit a home run, a single and drove in two.
