Another ‘little battle’ won in the war on drugs

Monroe County Sheriff Charles Black described a late-night drug bust as another victory in his office’s unending battle against illegal drugs.

Four suspects were arrested in the early morning hours Saturday, Jan. 7 and charged with drug-related offenses.

Joseph Reeves, 31, of Massillon; Austin Mullins, 21, of Bowerston; Courtenay Robinson, 22, of Canton; and Summer Longenette, 21, of Alliance, were all charged with two third-degree felonies, drug trafficking and drug possession, following a prearranged deal in the McDonald’s parking lot in Woodsfield.

According to Black, a confidential informant working for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office informed deputies that the buy would take place.

At around 2 a.m., the suspects arrived at the McDonald’s parking lot, attempting to sell 9 grams of what Black said he believed to be methamphetamine.
