Emergency HEAP funds available in Monroe County

GMN Tri-County Community Action administers Emergency HEAP, which is a federally funded program that assists income-eligible households whose heating services are disconnected, threatened to be disconnected or have less than a ten-day supply of bulk fuel.  The program can also assist clients with deposits for primary and/or secondary heat sources to establish service. The agency will accept applications through March 31.

Emergency HEAP allows eligible households a one-time payment of up to $175 per winter season for regulated utilities for electric or gas, and up to $550 for non-regulated utilities to restore, maintain or establish home heating service.
