Catherine “Grannie” Mitchell, 84, of Woodsfield, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025, peacefully at her home. Grannie was born October 4, 1940, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Maude (Milton) McAlarney.
 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David W. Mitchell, brothers Eddie, John (Barbara) and Glenn McAlarney, sisters Betty (Woodrow) Stemple and Annie (Milan) Radish and son-in-law John Speelman.
 Surviving are her two children, Michael Mitchell, of Akron, Ohio and Michelle Speelman of Woodsfield, Ohio; grandchildren David (Katie), Kathleen and John-Michael (Erica) Speelman; great-grandchildren Jacob, Kylie, Quinn and Jamison Speelman; many nephews, nieces and friends who loved her and will miss her every day.
