Steve Thompson, 77, of Clarington, Ohio, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025, at his home.
 He was born December 27, 1947, in Warren, Ohio, a son of the late Nile and Mary Lou Hyer Thompson.
 He was a boat pilot and coal miner. Steve attended the Methodist church and was a member of UMWA Local 1785.
 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Marsha Thompson.
 Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Judith Baranich Thompson; and several nieces, nephews, and best friends.
 Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
 Arrangements were entrusted to Grisell Funeral Home, Clarington.
