DALE ELLIOT

Dale Eugene Elliott 77, of Woodsfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 5, 1947, he was the son of the late Vernon “Homie” Elliott and Lucille (Denbow) Elliott.
Dale proudly served his country as a Specialist 5 in the United Sate Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1968. During his service he earned several awards, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Metal along with four Bronze Service Stars and was awarded Sharpshooter (rifle) badge.
After returning home, Dale worked for nine years as a coal miner at Y&O Coal Company in Beallsville. He then ran his own construction business for 12 years. Following that, he devoted 21 years of service for the village of Woodsfield, retiring in 2013.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his brothers Terry, Robert, and Roger Elliott, an infant sister, Susan and a half-brother Gary Denbow.
Dale leaves behind his devoted wife of 49 years, Dorothy (Stephens) Elliott; two sons, Brian (Hollie) Elliott and Brent (Amy) Elliott; and four grandchildren, Dylan, Brandon (Emily), Aiden, and Avree, who brought him great joy. He also leaves behind two sisters Bonnie (James) Selvy and Lisa (Dennis) O’Neal, and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, a full military service will be held at a later date with his beloved wife by his side.
