GLADYS TAYLOR
11/28/1940 – 10/26/2025
Gladys Mae Taylor 84, of New Matamoras, Ohio, passed away Sunday October 26, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio. She was born November 28, 1940, in Monroe County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Roy and Velma Minger Ludolph.
She was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a seamstress for Creighton’s Sports Center for many years. She loved crocheting, sewing, spending time with family, watching her grandkids play ball and always had a drawer full of candy and a jar full of cookies for her grandkids and visitors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Chuck” Taylor, son-in-law Steve Cochran, daughter-in-law Vergie Taylor, brothers; Ralph, Russell, Carl and Frank Ludolph, sisters; Lucille Kinsey, and Shirley Blosser, and great nephew, Nathan McPeek.
She is survived by her children; Cheryl “Sherry” Cochran and Dale Taylor, both of New Matamoras; grandchildren, Stephanie Cochran, Kristie (Casey) Morris, and Shayna (Ethan) Morris, and was “Moo-Moo” Gladys to six great-grandkids; Katelyn, Kaelee, Parker, Wesley, Mason and Stevie Mae. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends were received from 4 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 28 at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, Ohio, where funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2025, with Pastor Johnny Felton officiating. Burial followed in Mehrley Cemetery.
