Alvin Wayne Amos, 81, of Middlebourne, West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, while at Arbors at Woodsfield.
Alvin was born March 22, 1941, in Proctor, West Virginia, son of the late Clarence Earl and Genevieve Maye (Clark) Amos.
He was a retired electrician for the former Ormet; enjoyed gardening, farming in general, raising Limousine cattle; he was a member of New Martinsville Moose Lodge #931, Clarington Masonic Lodge No. 597 F & A.M. and Middlebourne Methodist Church.
Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Patricia (Scyoc) Amos; two daughters, Shari (Bill) Saffell, of Clarington, and Sheila (Bill) Thomas, of Hannibal; stepdaughter, Carla (Jim) Farrell, of Cowen, West Virginia; two stepsons, Marc (Babe) Hoover, of Moorefield, West Virginia, and Byrne Hoover, of Sistersville, West Virginia; two brothers, Larry (Donna) Amos, of Toledo, and Randy (Tammy) Amos, of New Martinsville, West Virginia; sister, Joretta (Jim) Ritchea, of New Martinsville, West Virginia; three grandchildren,
Alex Thomas, Katie Thomas and Billi Joe Saffell; two step-grandchildren, Amber Hoover and Marissa Hoover; two step-great-grandchildren, Caleb and Seth; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received at noon until time of service at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022, at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, West Virginia. Burial, with Masonic rites, to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville.
