Ralph E. Davis, age 76, of Lewisville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, at James Cancer Center in Columbus, after a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was born Nov. 27, 1946, in Lewisville, to John and Nellie (Fieber) Davis.
He graduated in 1964 from the former Skyvue School, Stafford. He served 2 years in the U.S. Army, 18 months of which he served in Germany.
On May 25, 1968 he and Nadine (Long) Davis were united in marriage at the Orrville Baptist Church in Orrville.
Ralph worked at the former Orrville Products in Orrville; Watt Car & Wheel in Barnesville; and retired from Ormet in Hannibal, in 2012. He was a proud member of the Monroe County Republican Party.
Ralph enjoyed farming, bluegrass music, and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister, Norma Jean Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine (Long) Davis, of 53 years; and his children, Beverly (Bob) Piatt, of Lewisville and Shawna (Don) Morton, of Woodsfield. He was the proud Pap-Paw of Vince Palombi; Haley (Taylor) Harless; Devin, Parker, and Chloe Seymour; Gage, Jonah, Jaylyn, Carter, Willow, Penelope “Nellie” Morton, and baby Morton due in March 2023. He is survived by one great-granddaughter, London Harless. He is survived by his siblings, Shirley (Jim) Saffle, of Woodsfield, Janet Davis, of Marietta, and Carl (Susan) Davis, of Lewisville.
Family and friends were received Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, where funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, with Pastor Joe Hise officiating. Burial followed in the Friendship Cemetery, Lewisville.
