Laura E. Ayers, 89, of Marietta, (formerly of Sycamore Valley) passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at the Harmar Place, Marietta.
She was born near Graysville, on June 1, 1933, a daughter of the late Roscoe and Daisy (Anderson) Weckbacher.
Laura was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ near Graysville, and was also known for her chocolate chip cookies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Melvin Ayers; one daughter, Vickie Conger; and one son, John Ayers; three brothers, Alton, Maynard and Mark Weckbacher.
Surviving are one daughter, Donna (Jeff) Winland, of Sycamore Valley; one son, Tracey (Denise) Ayers, of Fleming; two brothers, Wilbert Weckbacher, of Lowell, and Dean (Sharon) Weckbacher, of Sycamore Valley; one daughter in law, Dee Ayers, of Lowell; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends were received Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, where funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 30, 2022.
Burial followed in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Graysville.
