Bessie I. Nething, age 100, of Hannibal and Cameron, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, at Westwood Place, Woodsfield.
She was born Sept. 21, 1922, in Cameron, a daughter of the late John and Joanna Boughner Suppes.
She was a retired Post Master for the Cameron Post Office and was a member of the Cameron Church of Christ and Duffy Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harvey Nething; second husband, Kenneth Nething; seven sisters, Vada Nething, Pauline Alleman, Carrie Kirkland, Zelda Mokosh, Nancy Pumneo, Gail Henthorn and Nora Bonar; three brothers, Colonel, Paul and John Suppes Jr.; and two half-sisters, Mae Oestrich and Marie Schaffter.
Survivors include a son, Roger (Vickie) Nething, of Melbourne, Florida; granddaughter, Melissa (David) Back, of Kingsport, Tennessee; grandson, Eric (Mandi) Nething, of Valrico, Florida; great-grandchildren, Kaelynn, Ashlea and Nathanael Back, Garrett, Emma, Ryan, Dalton and Easton Nething; one brother, Carl Suppes, of Wooster; stepdaughter, Sharon (Arnold) Isner, of Hannibal; two step-grandchildren, Arlene (Lloyd) Cross and Kenny Isner, both of Hannibal; and five step-great-grandchildren, Kelsie Clegg, Kylie and Kendall Cross, Shaden and Aubree Isner.
Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at the Grisell Funeral Home, 125 Clarinda Dr., Clarington, with Evangelist Greg Yost officiating.
Interment will follow in Cameron Cemetery.
