Roy Clark, 67, of Somerton, passed away of liver disease on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Roy was born on Aug. 29, 1955, in Barnesville, to the late Charles Phillip and Ruth Ann (Nicholes) Clark.
Roy was a 1973 graduate of Barnesville High School and the JVS. He was a member of the Somerton United Methodist Church. Roy was a paramedic and was instrumental in saving many lives. He also volunteered for the Barnesville Shamrock Football team and also worked at the Barnesville wrestling tournaments as a paramedic on the sidelines. He taught EMS classes along with ACLS, PALS, CPR and first aid classes.
Roy is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pat (Armstrong) Clark, whom he married on Sept. 15, 1973; children, Tricia (Will) Dodd, Roy Clark, II and Lucas (Kayla) Clark; nine grandchildren, Morgan (Teejay) Camp, Lucas Matthew (Rachel) Clark, Clark Dodd, Ethan (Katie) Clark, Kennadi Dodd, Peyton Clark, Carson Clark, McKinley Clark and Charlie Ann Clark; three bonus grandchildren, Adrianna Schybal, Blake Thompson and Paislee Galloway; great-grandson, Asher Camp; siblings, a twin brother, Rick (Sue) Clark, Paul (Karen) Clark, Roger (Jennie) Clark, MaryAnn Lucas and Tim (Daniel Wright) Clark; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Campbell- Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut St., Barnesville. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, at the Somerton United Methodist Church, 55400 Washington St., Somerton, with Rick Lallathin officiating. Burial will follow at Somerton Southern Cemetery.
