NOTICE TO BIDDERS
OPWC ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS-MONROE COUNTY
CR9A ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the Monroe County Commissioners, 101 N. Main Street, Room 34, Courthouse, Woodsfield, OH 43793, until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2023 for the furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the project known as the Monroe County OPWC CR9A Road Improvement Project, which consists of cement stabilization and paving on Six Points Road, County Road 9A.
The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the above said time and place.
Contract documents, bid sheets, plans and specifications can be obtained at the Monroe County Engineers Office, 47134 Moore Ridge Road, Woodsfield, OH 43793.
Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal, a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provided said surety.
Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder shall be pre-qualified by the Ohio Department of Transportation at the time of the bid opening and shall submit certification of said approval and pre-qualifications with bid. The owner intends and requires that this project be completed no later than November 30, 2023.
All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable use Ohio Products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor’s Executive Order of 1972, and Governor’s Executive Order 84-9 shall be required.
Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Monroe County as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hour Division.
The Board of Monroe County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any an all bids.

Public Notice is hereby given that the State of Ohio, by and through the Monroe County Prosecutor, James L. Peters, has filed a Complaint in the Monroe County Common Pleas Court requesting forfeiture of certain property seized by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department on January 14, 2020 at 204 South Paul Street, Woodsfield, Ohio 43793.
The property seized includes: thirty-two (32) firearms, $7650.00 in cash, and the real property located at 204 South Paul Street, Woodsfield, Ohio 43793, which is more specifically described in the Monroe County Recorder’s office Official Records V. 396 P. 523. A list of the specific firearms can be obtained by contacting the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office at 740-472-1158.
The object of the action is to obtain an order from the Court forfeiting the described property to the appropriate political subdivision pursuant to R.C. 2981, et seq.
Any person owning or claiming any right, title, or interest in, the described property may petition the Court to release the property pursuant to R.C. 2981.03 or may file an answer to the Complaint within twenty-eight days of the filing of the Complaint on June 25, 2023. Therefore, the deadline to file an answer or otherwise plead is on or before July 24, 2023. Failure to file or otherwise plead could result in the loss of the property identified herein.
