Charles Elwood Drum, age 86 of Maryville, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023, at Asbury Place in Maryville, Tennessee. 

Charles graduated with a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University. He worked as a chemical engineer at PPG Industries until his retirement. He served as an elder in Sardis, North Canton, Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and Maryville, Tennessee. Charles also served many years on the Board of Trustees at Ohio Valley University in Vienna, West Virginia. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Annie Laurie Drum; sister, Louise Reither; and brother, James Drum. He is survived by his wife, Lana Drum; son, Mark Drum, of Atlanta, Georgia; and sisters, Alice Swindol, of Ohio, and Mary Wiggins, of Ohio. 

Family received friends Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at Smith Trinity Chapel, where the funeral service followed with Pastor Chris Kawa of River Oaks Community Church officiating. The interment was at Grandview Cemetery.
