Carlos Ray Mellott, 85, of Beallsville, passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia.
He was born Oct. 8, 1937, in St. Clairsville, a son of the late Roscoe Merle and Alma Reed Mellott.
Carlos was a retired employee of the former CONALCO Plant in Hannibal, part owner of C&D Drilling, and a dedicated member of the East Sunsbury Baptist Church near Beallsville. In addition to his parents, Carlos was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Knowlton Mellott in 2018; a son-in-law, Eugene Ward; two brothers, Herman and Glenn Mellott; and a sister, Irene Monte de Ramos.
Left to cherish his memory are four daughters, Vicky Ward, of Baltimore, Kathy (Donald) Dornon, of Beallsville, Stacy (Rob) Lash, of Columbus, and Carla (Tim) Adams, of Beallsville; eight grandchildren, Casey (Ryan) Edwards, Corey Dornon, Shawn (Ranae) Dornon, Rachel (Adam) Leek, Jessica (Ryan) Ogilbee, Tiffany (Jake) Blankenship, Nicole Lash (fiancé, Brad Warnock) and Jordan (Holly) Ward; 13 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Katelyn, Jamisyn Dornon, Bryson and Brenna Shriver, Alexis and Chase Dornon, Wyatt and Amelia Leek, Oakley and Levi Ogilbee, and John and Lydia Blankenship; and a sister, Betty (Lloyd) Gallaher.
Visitation was held Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Harper Chapel, Beallsville, where funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, with Pastor Kyle Cox presiding. Interment followed in Beallsville Cemetery.
