Elmer David Nichols, Jr., 53, of Hannibal, passed away Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at his childhood home.

He was born Dec. 6, 1969, in New Martinsville, West Virginia, a son of Elmer David Nichols Sr. and Susan Heslep Nichols.

He was a 1988 graduate of River High School, worked over the years at Giant Eagle and Walmart. Elmer was a trustee for Toronto Band Father’s and a River Alumni Booster.

In addition to his parents of Hannibal, he is survived by a son, James Nichols, of Proctor, West Virginia; a daughter, Taylor Scott, of St. Joseph, Missouri; granddaughter, Lakelynn Jo, of St Joseph, Missouri; a sister, Tammie (Jeff) Stewart, of Paden City, West Virginia; a brother, Jeff Nichols, of Hannibal; maternal grandparents, Bill and Ann Heslep, of Hannibal; many aunts and uncles; eight nieces and nephews; three great-nephews; and his loving canine companion, Mary.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
