Terry G. Hickman, 77, of Beallsville passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 7:10 a.m. surrounded by his loving wife of 57 years, Seroba C. Tomlinson Hickman and their sons, Jay and Troy. He was born December 17, 1945, in Barnesville Hospital, a son of the late Doyle Gene and Edith Mae Fankhauser Hickman. Terry began his life of service and caregiving by serving as a Sergeant E-5 in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967 in South Korea. “Kojak” continued his dedication to the Community of Beallsville where he served as mayor from 1971-1977, Fire Chief for 12 years, and as an EMT for 50 years. “Hick” was one of the charter members of the Beallsville American Legion Post #768 and he played a major role in building the Veterans Memorial at the entrance to the Beallsville Cemetery. Additionally, “Chief” served as an usher for football games at the Horseshoe for the world famous “The Ohio State Buckeyes.” Terry also served Monroe County as the EMS Coordinator. His final act of service has been to First Christian Church of Beallsville. Terry was retired from the former ORMET Corporation near Hannibal where he served as Head of Security and Safety. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Sandra Miller, his younger sister, Connie Frazier, also by a grandson, Jayse. Left to embrace his memory in addition to his wife, Seroba, are a brother Don; two sons, Jay (Leisha) and Troy “Mr. Beallsville;” two grandchildren, Devyn (Dalton) Radabaugh and Max (Anna) Hickman; three great-granddaughters, Amelia, Joey, and Drew Radabaugh; also special friends, Winnie, Tre, and Paige. Visitation was held Friday, November 3 at Wilson Funeral Home, Harper Chapel where funeral services took place Saturday, November 4 with Wayne Clark presiding. Burial with full Military Honors by American Legion Post #768 followed in Beallsville Cemetery.
