JOHN “SKINNY” HRANKO

 John “Skinny” Hranko, 89, of Beallsville, formerly of Powhatan Point, passed away Friday, December 1 in Shadyside Care Center. He was born August 12, 1934, in Powhatan Point, a son of the late Joseph and Anna Holley Hranko. John was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and a retired employee of the former Consolidated Aluminum Plant near Hannibal. In years past John enjoyed playing bingo at the pool hall in Powhatan and participating as an active member of American Legion Post #768, Beallsville. In recent years he has been happiest spending time with his family, working on jigsaw puzzles, and watching the birds at his home near Beallsville. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother Joseph and a sister Lois. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Vonnie Snyder Hranko; two sons, Jim (Connie) Hranko of Beallsville and Terry Hranko (April Spatilson) of North Carolina; a brother, Rodney (Mary Ann) Hranko of Powhatan Point; grandchildren, Jennifer (Elwood), Chastitye, Rachelle (Louis), Ralphie (Sara), Ashley (Richie); great-grandchildren, Michael (Crystal), Brey (Krista), Montanna, Jacob, Alyssia, Tyler, Donavan, Paige, Payton, Rylee, Joshalynn, Brantley, Woody, Dominick, Cayden, and Jayden; great-great grandchildren, Hardyn and Dayton; his precious puppy, Pebbles; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Family and friends will be received Friday, December 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home – Harper Chapel, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Saturday, December 9 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kyle Cox offering words of comfort. Full Military Honors by American Legion Post #768 will be held at the funeral home. John’s family requests that in lieu of flowers and keepsakes, memorial contributions be made to an organization near to his heart, American Legion Post #768, 52651 Broad Street, Beallsville, OH 43716.
