Donald Richard “Pap” (Dick) Ward, 83, of Woodsfield, Ohio. passed away on Friday February 2, 2024. at his home surrounded by family. He was born on January 9, 1941. at Centerville/Armstrongs Mills, Ohio, to the late Delbert Jess (Jack) Ward and Florence Marie Wallace-Ward.
 Dick was a strong believer in Christ. He was a lifelong member of East Sunsbury Baptist Church. He was a faithful union man that retired from Ormet Rolling Mills in 2001. Pap was a generous, caring, and hardworking man that touched many lives. He will be greatly missed by many.
 Dick was preceded in death by his son Richard Hamilton Ward; brothers: Jerry Laverne Ward and William D. (Connie) Ward; sisters: Eleanore Jean (Dick) Stuart, Wanda (Steve Krempasky 1st husband / John Chini Mancini 2nd husband), Cheryl Kaye (Don) Goudy, and Madelyn Ray (Melvin) Bigler.
 Dick is survived by his wife of 37+ years, Helen Rube Stephens-Ward; siblings Junior Jess (Melba) Ward and Judy (David) Matusik; his children: Douglas Matthew (Debra) Ward, Dawn Marie (John) Weiss, Michelle Lee (Charles) Black and Tya Marie (Amy) Paulus-Ramsey; his grandchildren: Deisa (Gregory) Woolum, Kayla (Eric) Gilkey, Jared (Taylor) Ward, John (J.C.) Weiss, Hunter (Kyle) Douglass, Justis Weiss, Jacob (Beth) Black, Haleigh Black, Alexa (Daniel) Weiss, and Natalie (Lex) Markwas, great-grandchildren: Zella and Lydia Woolum, Liam and Ava Gilkey, Bo and Indie Ward, Xander and Madelyn Douglass, Lux and Onyx Weiss and Mason and Meryn Russell; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
 We want to give thanks to Amedisys Hospice Care team. Their aid and loving kindness and care was greatly appreciated.
 Visitation will be held at Bauer and Turner Funeral Home in Woodsfield from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday February 6, 2024. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 7 at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with words of comfort by Joe Hise. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
