Virginia E. Minger, 99, of Fly, Ohio, passed away Friday March 22, 2024, at Stellar Care Center, Woodsfield. She was born in Paden City, W.V., August 7, 1924, a daughter of the late John and Margeret Newbrough Rockwell.
She was a member of Brownsville Church of Christ and had worked at Paden City Pottery many years ago.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. “Poppie” Minger, daughter Sally Huffman, son-in-law Ralph Huffman, three granddaughters Jennifer Bock, Heidi Bock, Sarah Dick, two sisters, and one brother.
She is survived by her sons John (Berneta) Minger of Brownsville, Ohio, and Jim (Corrina) Minger of Antioch, Ohio, daughter Rebecca (Homer) Salsbury of Fly, grandchildren Tammy (Dale) Ewers, Cindy Bradfield, Jason (Wendy) Huffman, Denzil Minger, Deanna (Russell) Kocher, and Heather (Mariusz) Olszewski, 16 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 – 8 p.m. Monday, March 25 and from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Bauer – Turner Funeral Home, 100 South Paul Street, Woodsfield, with Homer Salsbury officiating. Burial will follow in Mehrley Cemetery Fly.
