WILDA WITSCHEY

 Wilda Witschey, 91, of New Martinsville, WV died Friday, May 3, 2024 while at Liza’s Place.
 Wilda was born October 1, 1932, in New Martinsville, WV daughter of the late Carl and Edna Beatrice (Calvert) Carney.
 She graduated from Magnolia High School Class of 1950. After high school, Wilda moved to Clarksburg, WV where she attended St. Mary’s Hospital School of Medical Technology. In 1951 she graduated as a Medical and X-ray Technologist. Wilda worked at St. Mary’s Hospitals in Clarksburg and Huntington, Wetzel County Hospital and for the office of Doctors Coffield.
 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Maxine Blake, Doris Adkins; brothers, Dale, Burl and Wayne Carney. Wilda is survived by her husband, Bill Witschey of sixty-seven years; daughters, Mary (Scott) Korbin, Jennifer Witschey; son, Captain [Delta Airlines] Bill (Dina Vigil) Witschey; granddaughters, Kaitlin Darr and Leah (Josh Steube) Korbin; great granddaughter, Reagan Fluet; sister-in-law, Lila Witschey; brothers-in-law, Wayne and Warren Witschey and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
 Wilda was a very giving, loving wife and mother who cared deeply for her family and was always willing to step-up and help when needed. She was an owner and a constant support for the family business, Witschey’s Market. Wilda kept the home fires burning. She enjoyed traveling to all fifty states and to many countries with her husband, Bill.
 She was very loved and will be sorely missed.
 Wilda’s request was for private services. Burial to take place in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.
