DEBRA JUNE (MARMIE) BURKE

 Debra June (Marmie) Burke, 69, of Beallsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from a long, hard-fought battle to breast cancer. She was born on June 18, 1954, to her parents Naomi (Poulson) Marmie and David Marmie.
 Debbie graduated from Beallsville High School in 1972 and married her high school sweetheart, J.D. Burke, and have spent the last 51 years building a life filled with love. She was a wonderful and beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
 Her greatest passion was being a disciple of Christ. Her main desire was “to live in a way that was worthy of the Lord, pleasing Him in every respect, and keeping a pure heart before Him.”
 She loved her husband dearly and was his biggest advocate for making sure he rode his horses every day. Deb studied and developed a great knowledge of all things Rocky Mountain horses and together, they turned West Sunsbury Farm into a thriving business. She never missed the opportunity to cheer on her children and grandchildren in all of their academic and extra circular activities.
 Debbie was the praise and worship leader at New Life Church for many years. She was a talented vocalist and pianist and even recorded an album in 1985. Her songs have and continue to touch the hearts of many, bringing them to know and love The Lord.
 Her other hobbies included cooking, ancestry, sewing, crocheting, and photography.
 In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by her children, Jarrin (Sarah) Burke of Bozeman, Mont., Savannah (Travis) Eddy of Clarington, Ohio, and Matthew (Lanae) Burke of Bozeman, her grandchildren, Jackson, Emily, Ellison, Abigail and Kye, brothers David Marmie of Germantown, Ohio, John (Monica) Marmie of Morgan Hill, Calif., and Anthony Marmie of Ozark, Ohio, sister Shirley Marmie-McCance of Byesville, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.
 Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 18 at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednes­day, June 19, 2024, with Evangelist Mike Jeffers officiating. Burial will follow in Ozark Cemetery, Ozark, with Randy Williams officiating.
