Judith Emmaline Chappell, 82, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024, at Forest Hills Care Center in St. Clairsville.
Born November 22, 1941, in Jerusalem, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Miller Bach.
Judith lived her life as a testament to the joy found in simple pleasures and the profound impact of kindness. As a devoted homemaker and skilled florist, she had an intrinsic ability to create beauty both in her home and through her floral arrangements. Her eye for detail and her passion for styling were evident in her love for fashion, particularly in her unique talent for pairing hats with matching scarves – a flair she was known for by all who knew her.
Her greatest joy came from making others smile. With a gentle spirit and a warm heart, Judith touched the lives of many, spreading happiness wherever she went. She cherished every moment spent with family, treasuring those times above all else.
Judith’s love for bingo was legendary among her friends and family, and her laughter would often fill the room during these lively gatherings.
In addition to her parents, Judith was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Carter Chappell, great-grandson Carter Matthew Lawhorne, sisters; Joanne Keene and Joyce (Willard) Saffell.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sandra Harper, Jody Weekley, and Anthony Chappell, grandchildren, Molly Harper and Katy Weekley, great-grandchildren, Isabella and Allyson Harper, Aiden Lawhorne and Madi McNeely, brother-in-law George (Arleen) Chappell and sister-in-law Shirley Chappell, a close nephew, Raymond Morris and several nieces and nephews.
Per Judith’s wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to CARE Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 204 West Main Street, St. Clairsville, OH 43950.
