Beallsville advances to OVAC final
Beallsville stormed past Morgantown Trinity in the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Class 1A semifinal Tuesday, Oct. 10 at Paden City High School.
The Lady Blue Devils easily on the first set, 25-14 and fought off Trinity 25-22 in the second set and 25-21 in the third for the three-game sweep.
Olivia Muncy’s serving set the tone for Beallsville (12-8).
Muncy was perfect on her serves for the day and finished with 13 points and two aces to go with two kills.
Also for Beallsville, Rachel Campbell had five points, two aces, three kills and 13 assists; Dagan Hossman nine points, seven aces, two kills and three digs; Mackenzie Perkins four points, three aces and two kills; Ashlie Louden four points, eight kills and 13 assists; and Ashley Howell six points, three aces, 11 kills and a block.
With the victory, the Lady Blue Devils advanced to the OVAC Class 1A final against Paden City at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 at Union Local High School.
Top-seeded Paden City (17-4) defeated Weirton Madonna in straight sets to earn its spot in the final.
Beallsville split with Paden City this season, falling in straight sets Sept. 6 at Beallsville, but got some revenge with a 2-0 victory as part of a tri-match Sept. 13 at Paden City.
