Carol C. Kuhn, 79, of Woodsfield, Ohio, (formerly of Lewisville, Ohio), passed away peacefully with family at her side at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
Carol was born on the family farm near Lewisville on July 28, 1944, to the late Leander O. Kuhn and Genevieve Smithberger Kuhn. Carol was one of 10 children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenny, Joe and Jimmy Kuhn of Lewisville and Paul Kuhn of Cambridge, Ohio.
Carol worked at Diebold in Canton, Ohio, for 20 years as a key punch operator. She was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, and also the former St. Joseph Catholic Church near Lewisville. Faith was important to her and she would often be listening to the Catholic channel as the Rosary was prayed. She enjoyed her weekly visits from Fr. Tim Davison, who provided her spiritual support over the last few years.
Carol had a love for reading, eating cheeseburgers, pizza and chicken sandwiches. She was also an avid fan of Elvis Presley and would blare some of his songs like Suspicious Minds in her younger days while living in Canton.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Rose Ann Pero of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Rita Kuhn of Cambridge; Mary Joyce (Russ) Betts, Lucy (Delmas) Betts and Elaine “Tootsie” Biedenbach, all of Lewisville.
Carol is the mother of two sons, whom she loved dearly, Matthew (Shannon) Kuhn of Alliance, Ohio, and Tim (Julie Meyer) Renneker of Farmersville, Ohio.
Her family circle included her precious grandchildren, Matthew (Mickie) Kuhn, Katie Kuhn, Samantha and Dylan (Kylee) Varner, Thaddeus and May Renneker; great-grandchildren, Dakota Kuhn and Callie Harsh and her niece and goddaughter, Cindy Coss. Carol had many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who love her.
Friends will be received at Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2024, where Rosary services will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2024, at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, with Fr. Timothy Davison as the celebrant. Carol will be laid to rest next to her parents at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery near Lewisville.
The family would like to thank the hospital and Amedysis Hospice for their care, comfort and support for Carol and her family over the past week.
