CAROLYN ELAINE DEATON

Carolyn Elaine Deaton, 79, of Alledonia, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, surrounded by her family.

She was born Jan. 25, 1943, near Beallsville, a daughter of the late George Datkuliak and Hazel Miller Datkuliak Lucas.

Carolyn retired after working many years at the sewing factory in Barnesville. She loved spending time with her family, friends, church family, and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Gene Deaton; a granddaughter, Emily Crago; three brothers, Harold Datkuliak, Nyle Datkuliak and Robert Datkuliak.

Surviving are four children, Carla (John) Crago, of Canal Winchester, Mark Deaton, (Andreanna Screen) of Alledonia, Michael (Tammy) Deaton, of Clarington, and Bryan (Kim) Deaton, of Hope Mills, North Carolina; grandchildren Abigail and Chase Crago, Kayla, Jason and Kristen Deaton, Rayshel Morris, Krista Deaton, and Anna Deaton; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Madelynn, and Ethan Morris, and Troy Peoni; a sister, Norma Conrad, and a brother, Lowell (Bonnie) Datkuliak; also many nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Carolyn’s life, a visitation and memorial service presided by Minister Colin Morrison will be held for family and friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at the Wilson Funeral Home – Harper Chapel, Beallsville.
